The Pee Dee Baptist Association (PDBA)was established in 1815 coming from a division of territory in the Sandy Creek Baptist Association that started in 1750. Up until the division of territory Sandy Creek Baptist Association was the largest Baptist Association spreading from Virginia to Georgia. Today the office of the Pee Dee Baptist Association is located in the city of Rockingham North Carolina. Its territory covers both Richmond and Scotland Counties.

There are 37 churches within the association at this time (2020). The PDBA exist to assist churches and advance the gospel through the making of disciples across both counties working together to fulfill the Great Commission.
